Just got a new MFS with the flat ground blade. Haven't had chance to workout with it yet but it looks like it will be an excellent knife for EDC.

I prefer to carry small fixed blades in my front pocket when at work rather than folders and this is what I got the MFS for. Fits real good in the pocket. Of course when off work-carry larger fixed blades!

What I'd like to know is the wrapping came with the usual large lanyard. I'd like to cut that off. Could the cord then be taken out of the rearmost hole leaving only the tie at the second hole from the rear and then tuck the ends of the cord under the wrap. Do you think that would still hold the wrap tight?

Also, would like to get a slip sheath for the front pocket. Could strider make one or any names of others that could do it?

Thanks.

I like the simplicity of the MFS. Who or what is the target audience of this particular knife? I was thinking that if I had a son involved in scouting or camping, this is what I would give him.

Thats why we call it the MFS (My First Strider).

Sure you can remove the lanyard. Hit the knot with a blob of super glue first.

Mr. Mick,

The super glue gig worked good. How about a slip sheath for the MFS? Could you guys set me up with something like that? Like a rough side out leather or something else that would stay in a pants pocket as the knife was drawn.
