M.Gregory is clearly bonkers, it's obvious. He also makes these fine kwaiken knives with blades that look like they grew that way naturally, like the business end of an apex predator's meat-mauler. They look like excellent weapons - hey yes, now that's a good job for this alloy! I just had to see what would happen if a lumpy billet of ti alloy went through his processes. Like feeding a bar of metal into the M.Gregory machine, and this is what popped out the other end of the conveyor belt! Exactly what I hoped to see, yet surprising as well... Having seen the size of this thing when it was roughed out, I can say that it is one nasty blade, large and substantial.
Of course it's 100% selfish on may part, because by seeing what he does I get to absorb many insights and important information that helps me to become a better bladesmith and understand more closely where the the titanium alloy's character begins and my skills end, like a reference point.
