.. We haven't heard from John or Bubba_blades in a while. Does anyone know how they are doing?

John usually emails me every couple of days and I've not heard from him for a week. I hope he's not in the hospital getting back surgery.

There was a collector's to-do in Baltimore this past week-end. JP posted his congratulations to the organizers for a successful dinner and meeting, on the Ethno Forum Sunday night. He used glowing terms, so he is probably still trying to work off the extra weight :D

Razorzedge000 last posted about this time Friday. 5 days later, he has still not posted again. Usually in that length of time he'd be expected to post 10/15 times.

Harry's the one I miss most but when love strikes you can kiss everything else goodbye including the forum -- I'd like to see a pix of the gal.

How about JayH and StevenF?

and Broken Arrow and Kmark?

Finn hasn't been around much either IIRC

JayH called me yesterday. He's alive and kicking and ordered another khukuri. Speven disappeared -- again I think he found a love interest. Broken Arrow sent an email -- as a LEO he has been overloaded since 9/11. Kmark I'm not sure about. I do hear from Finn once in awhile and he's okay.

I've just finished ITB (I'm an 11C, a mortarman). I'm headed for Ft. Lewis, WA. I hope to be able to drop back in more after I get to my duty station.

Good to have you back Spectre!:)

My dad was on a mortar squad in Korea btw, and the shell that took out their bunker was a Chinese mortar. Watch out for the rounds coming back in the wrong direction;)

Because of the terrain, mortars have had a fairly high-profile role recently in Afghanistan. From what little research I've been able to do in the past couple of days, Ft. Lewis troops are most likely to be involved in Korea or the Pacific region.

Howard, thanks for the offer. We didn't actually do any judo in ITB, but I can definitely use some practice on my ukemi. As it was, I took about 3 nasty falls while training- once while running with LCE, Kevlar, and rifle- without taking any damage. I was very thankful.

Rob, I duck and cover REALLY well. :)

I know noone asked, but Uncle Bill and a few of the oldtimers should remember me. Still here but mostly just lurking. Haven't bought a khukuri in a while. Lately I've been getting the itch for an 18" GS. Yvsa's Cherokee Rose is a necessity also!

Cheers!

You ain't been forgot, whatsyourface.

Good to hear from you and know you're still lurking Jaeger. Say "boo" now and then.

Glad to see someone still remembers me! I stepped away from the forum for a while but I've been back and lurking for a month or so. I have been bitten by the 45/70 bug and that's where all of my extra $ has been going. I started with a Marlin Guide Gun and hopefully will be picking up a Ruger #3 in the next few weeks. That GG is phenominally accurate and a real blast to shoot. It is the perfect companion to my favorite 15"AK!

I have a new (well, 7 month old) daughter as well so extra $ is not like it use to be and I'm usually busy with the family when all you guys are snapping up these great deals!
