Sal,
Have you thought about the great little Dragonfly in micarta? That would be a nice offering, I know some other fellow forumites feel the same. Maybe through the Spy Custom Shop? I'm hoping. Did you ever get my direct e-mail about my current job status?

There's one other thing I've got to share with you that I had to write my local congressman about! A friend of mine recently had to travel to a meeting out-of-state for work, and he left our area via Chicago's O'Hare airport. He was carrying the Baby Wayne Goddard I sold him and was stopped at the carry-on scanning area for it! The lady running that checkpoint began to harass him about it because of the serrations, even though the blade is 1/16th less than two inches! Another checkpoint person came over and joined in on harassing my friend before a higher authority decided that the knife was indeed acceptable. All that nonesense occurred over a BWG, and he came within seconds of missing his flight! I understand the FAA's heightened security measures, but common sense just doesn't exist anymore! I just found out about the incident this weekend, and after he told me, I wrote to my local representative. I can see it now, someday we will not be allowed to have a finger-nail clipper on our person! Yes, I have just joined the ATKI! I'm a life NRA guy, so its only natural to be a part of the ATKI.

Savman - yes we've even discussed iot on a past thread. even considering colors. No decisions yet.

Sorry about the incident with your friend. It seems that serrations are feared more on airlines recently than plain deges. Something about their "looking dangerous". I guess to the non knife person, they seem more intimidating. I believe that these security guards believe they are doing the "right" thing. Ignorance is the problem. Education is he solution. Thanx for joining AKTI. This is one of the roads to solution.

Sal,
The AKTI is a great way for all the knife lovers to join together to fight all the negativity. I just hope that at a minimum, all of the forum people do decide to join. If we don't stick together, the politicians will have their way with us, just like they are in the gun industry (which is another sad story). If you give them an inch, they will take a mile. The uninformed masses and the media need to be won over, too. Education definitely fights ignorance! I'm saddened that the non-informed have to inconvenience people like my friend in the airport, that's a shame.

I don't want to keep harping on this, but as I said in the last micarta dragonfly thread, I think this would be a winner. I really like my calypso micarta, and would like a smaller, lighter version. I think there is a real hole in the small knife market, that needs more companies to address it. I will buy at least two, because I know my co workers will buy the first one off of me.

PS the Wayne Goddard Jr. has to be the most underated spyderco. Thanks Savman for the deal!!!!

No prob, RW! I really like the Goddard Jr. myself, as it fits the hand so well. Wayne's design is not only comfortable, but safe, too. That design has massive built-in slide- down protection; I like that. I would really like a Micarta 'Fly, too!! I hope Sal decides to release that model!
