Micarta for a hidden tang sword?

has one tried using micarta for a hidden tang sword? Can the material work for this kind of construction?
 
I have not done it myself on anything that big, but yes it will work and be plenty strong with either a block or carved out and pinned scales but for something that big you will want at least one pin through the tang so you are not depending on your epoxy alone.
