I think my question fits in this thread since it concerns micarta.
What knife covers do you prefer? Would you buy the knife if it was only available in something that you shied away from? I’m here to say, try it you’ll like it. My preferred covers were stag, stag, and more stag. Micarta? Yuck! Well, live and learn. It turns out that the pattern and the quality of its maker should be the deciding factor. The only comparison I can think of is pick out your favorite car but it’s only available in THAT color. Here’s my evidence. Black micarta is tough and resilient, yet to my eye is also elegant. I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Yes, it's a Possum but the micarta's color variation (seen in this pic) smoothed right out with a little coon-fingering
