It’s a Browning 1895 (from the mid 70’s I’ve been told), in .30-06. My favorite rifle.

You are in good company. Teddy Roosevelt was fond of the 1895, and on his 1908 African safari he took one 1895 chambered in .30-03 and three chambered in .405. He said that the .405 was "the medicine gun for lions".

Yeah it’s a great rifle. I was lucky to find this one. It was almost NIB, maybe five or six rounds through it when I got it last year. It’s sure got a lot more now.
