Micarta Monday - Traditional Knives Only, Please

Here's a black micarta Rough Ryder chef knife, 5.25" closed, in a photo taken in the cabin we rented on Lake Huron a year ago.
As I type this, we're back in the same cabin this year, but the long-time owner died last summer, and a couple of his grandkids have taken over management of the property. They've made some upgrades, including getting rid of almost all of the ship models and other seafaring knickknacks that I photographed last year. That stuff was interesting to me as a renter, but I'll bet it was a nightmare trying to keep the cabins clean with all those little "dust catchers" on every shelf and window sill.

Too bad you did not have a chance to buy that boat in the photo. John

Yeah, it's a nice boat model, but my wife, who is in charge of all "interior decoration" at our house, would have vetoed my buying it.

Micarta for me this Monday is on a GEC #72 with OD green canvas micarta (thanks, Dee). If you'd ask me if I liked 1) a single-bladed knife or 2) a lockback or 3) a knife with synthetic covers or 4) a clip point blade or 5) a knife almost 4" closed, I'd probably say "Not really" to each question, yet I think this particular knife, having all those "not-really-likeable" features, is fantastic! o_O🤓
