i prefer micarta for knives i beat on and abuse.

g10 definitely is prettier though imo.

I like G10. Milled right I have never had a problem holding on to it.

Res-c = best handle for hard impacts.
Linen micarta = best feel and looks combo.
Canvas micarta = best grip/traction.
G10 = neatest colors and helping to balance out a blade heavy knife like the Butaniku (which makes an awesome user by the way).

Usually micarta but lately G10 on the bigdawgs or grails, because they deserve the extra $.

Micarta seems to transfer less impact to hands on hard chop tasks.

Maybe it's just me but g10 feel noticeably heavy, especially on smaller blades.

g10 has that higher cost feel to it. If that makes sense o_O. Kinda like titanium vs alumium scales on folders they both feel like metal but titanium feels higher quality

Canvas micarta on heavy users.
Paper micarta on smaller knives, or display pieces.
G10 on food-prep knives for easier cleaning, otherwise I don't like G10.

G10, unless it's a nice micarta like tigerhide I've got way too many black canvas "new and old green tint ver" knives around, and like I was saying above micarta works better on users meant for choppin' less shock to the hand or tuning fork effect but not all my knives are users some get babied .

can't imagine slipping on something textured like this with g10:
