Depends on what your going for.i prefere g-10.easier to grind and finish (imo).also lighter.

I agree with balibalistic...You can make your own micarta and mix an additive with it to make it easier to polish. With micarta, you are only limited by your imagination....color, materials, it's all up to the maker.....Franco

I've used micarta a couple of times and am now using G-10 on a personal knife. Both are very easy to work with but I do find that G-10 is a bit easier. I do have to be careful to not overheat it when sanding or I get this wierd silver stuff going on.

this is a good tutorial for making micarta with almost no tools (just some clamps, a brush and wax paper and two boards).
