Really got the fever for a small classic, and can't decide whether to get a wood inlay or micarta. Which would you all get?

Just got an african blackwood and am very pleased with it. beautiful knife and solid. Tough choice. Beater/Hard use knife probably micarta. Regular use or more of casual/dress environment the wood is a great choice. For now I have an Endura to beat on.

I vote Micarta. I dont have a small but my large is probably my favourite knife in my entire collection, including customs.

Thats a tough one. I had a Sm. Bocote and it was really nice, I've also had a Sm. Micarta. Like many have said, the Micarta might make a tougher knife and will have a better grip to it. I think if I had to only get one it would be the Micarta.

I say go with the wood.

The flats on the wood handled ones are polished and give the titanium handle a two tone look-add that with the wood and you have one very classy looking folder.

The micarta is just all blasted.

You most likley will not want to beat the knife anyway, get the pretty one.

That's a tough one. The woods hold up great but I tend to agree with BOK. My large Micarta with serrations is my current fav. It depends on your taste and what you want the knife for. The Micarta screams utilitarian and the woods are more classy. I can tell you from experience that the woods hold up great and actually get more "personallity" with use. Get both but it really comes down to a personal choice that only you can answer. ;)

i would go for micarta because of the tactical look and better grip for dressing occasions go with the wood it all comes down of what you going to use the knife for
