• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Micarta question

Maybe crosscut a pattern into the handle with a file. I did that on my mini grip

You can also evenly hand sand with 60 or 80 grit sandpaper to rough it up.

If they are already sandblasted, 60 probably won't make it any rougher.

Filing notches or gouging dimples is probably what's got to happen. Don't make them too fine or sharp edged so they don't chip easily.

If you're good with a dremel, the side of a 194 bit will make quick work of making channels, instead of a small round file.

Sandpaper is okay but if you really want to make a difference I have great results with a rasp. It raises the fibers in the canvas and leaves a nice grip with a soft texture.

You don't have to do the whole handle. The four edges just beside the length of the tang, top and bottom is where your hand will find it most noticeable. Start by doing those areas first with the rasp and rough up the rest of the handle with a little 60 grit and blend it together. If for some reason it is not for you, you can sand it back smooth in about thirty seconds.

You could wrap it with grip-tape. Just a thought.
For once, somebody who calls it by it's proper name. As a former skateboarder it sends shivers down my spine every time I see it referred to as "skateboard tape". It's grip tape. To skaters. To guys who put it on their knives. To guys who put it on their handguns. It's the same. It's grip tape. Thank you Derek.
