micarta restoration?

besides sharpie ink(current method) is there any specific
process to restore the color to my very well used micarta scales?
any help would be great, thanks

Wash with soap and water, sand with 220 grit sandpaper. You can go higher but I like grippy micarta.

If you want to darken them up after sanding spray with wd-40.

I use that, and sometimes plain mineral oil (butcher block oil). It evaporates after a while, but it doesn't have a smell.

tried the wd-40 and it worked great, besides i love the smell thanks for the help
