Comparing a BATAC with G-10 to a SJTAC with micarta it would appear G-10 is heavier. I know the SJTAC has a longer blade which would attribute to a more blade heavy feel.
I'm also surprised at how different a SJTAC is to a BATAC. I thought the blade was just going to be a bit longer but there are so many subtle differences, the SJTAC is more angled while the BATAC is straighter, the edge from belly to choil on the SJTAC seems not to be in a straight line while the BATAC seems straight - I thought this was because of how I sharpened it but on inspection of some pictures of some mint SJTAC's it looks to be the design !!
I'm even more impressed with Jerry now - any other maker might have just made the blade longer and used the same cad design or whatever. They are 2 totally different animals... subtly though !!
