Michael Burch Platypus
This is a prototype of one of his new neck knife designs. 2.5" blade made of 1080 with a gun kote finish. It fits my hand perfectly, a great little blade.





Greg Lightfoot Max Velocity Black Widow
3.25" blade made of D2. Traded another folder out for this one and am now kicking myself for not getting one of Greg's folders sooner than I did. I'm not normally a fan of blacked out blades, but the combo of the black powdercoat and the CF handles on this one really struck me. It feels great in hand, very well balanced. Another thing I like is that the blade keeps it's thickness almost to the very tip. I see this one getting a lot of pocket time.

 
I liked that Michael Burch Platypus the first time I saw the post , handsome knife !

On that folder , man that coating looks intense ! I love it :)
 
The really nice thing about the coating on the Lightfoot is that there are no worries about fingerprint smudges and no glare. Makes the knife much easier for me to photograph with my limited lighting/background options.
 
How thick is the liner lock on the Lightfoot?

I like his folder designs, but his liner-lock models always seem to be a bit thin.

Wasn't the Black Widow a PlazaCutlery exclusive?

Liners are just a hair over 1/16". Thicker liners really wouldn't hurt the weight on this knife at all, it's pretty light with the CF scales.

I don't know if this model was an exclusive at Plaza. I got it in trade from Dave at Steel Addiction, and I believe he had it on consignment. I did find an old page at Plaza's website where they'd sold one, but no mention of it being one of their exclusive runs.
