I am very happy and proud to announce that I have joined Spyderco as their Special Projects Coordinator. In that capacity, I will get to wear a number of hats and have the opportunity to apply my skills toward serving Spyderco's law enforcement and military customers, assisting with product education, and supporting their industry-leading product design and innovation.

In addition to my full-time commitment, Spyderco has also graciously allowed me to remain involved with personal defense training and education, including co-hosting The Best Defense TV series on Outdoor Channel and teaching seminars in Martial Blade Concepts and related topics.

I'm thrilled to be a member of the Spyderco team and look forward to representing a company whose products and philosophy I truly believe in.

Stay safe,

Mike

Wow, that is quite the announcement!

Congratulations and I'm looking forward to the fruit of this partnering :D

Michael:
Congrats on the new position. Spyderco can certainly use your skills, knowledge and good sense..as they did when you were there before! I wish you much luck and fortune in your new job!

Be safe

I can't think of a better way of making my first post than replying to this incredible news! Long time fan of Spyderco's product offering and student of your many publications and training material. Finally convinced my Father that one need not be an expert in the FMA to efficiently utilize edged weapons in a self defense role via the NRA's "Practical Blade Defense" DVD you did with Rob Pincus.

Congratulations and best wishes for your continued success, Mike.

P.S. - As you might have gleaned from my screen name, I'm a huge fan of your Yojimbo design. Any chance you might encourage another run of this fine design, or even better yet, an updated version?

*Awaits cool new designs* And congrats to you for being with Spyderco, and to Spyderco for picking you up.

Once again, "you can't keep a good man down".
way to go Mike!
the sky's the limit with Spyderco.

Thank you all for your enthusiastic support. I truly appreciate it and look forward to contributing to both Spyderco's success in the knife industry and your enjoyment as a knife users and collectors.

To briefly answer a few of your questions, yes, I am no longer with BlackHawk. With regard to the Yojimbo, Ronin, and perhaps even the Jani-Song, I too have hopes that they can be made available again. Like any good business decision, the numbers need to justify the project and the investment, so please keep providing your feedback. It's one of our best tools to gauge market interest.

Thanks again for your support.

Stay safe,

Mike
