Michael Ruth Jr. "Ruthless" Series # 1

It is a true work of art with a fine story to go with it . Michael your ruthless perseverance has payed off nice job .

Love the ladder damascus, love the little silver spacer thing by the ricasso, love the ivory. Wow

Hey thanks for the kind words guys! I'm thrilled that you like it! I had a blast working on this one and got the chance to try out a couple of new things. I think Paul's sheath is amazing! To me, it adds just the right amount of attitude. Chuck, working his usual magic, brought the whole package together perfectly!

Now back down to the shop to work on test knives...see ya'll at BLADE!

Maker and collector: I'd be proud, too. A fantastic story, and evidence of how the word inspiration is a verb.

Chuck and Paul always do justice to a project. :D

Thanks!

I like everything about this fighter. Look at that point! If I had to be stabbed I would want to be stabbed with this one.

I usually say that a fighter knife well designed and well executed produces fear even while resting on a table. No doubt this knife fits that definition. The design of the blade, the tip is especially scary.
The damascus is incredible, very smooth. The classic guard was perfect . And no doubt this is a handle of the finest ever seen.
Finally a perfect project! My congratulations to the talented Michael and the lucky Jon.
All the best!!!

I was impressed with some of Michael's work in Arkansas last summer. He has definitely picked things up a notch or two! Nice job, you two.

"Ruthless" and the Paul Long sheath arrived home safe and sound yesterday. I feel quite lucky as the knife is outstanding. Additionally Paul Long is the man. The full crocodile sheath is just awesome. As you can see Chuck did a great job in both photos bringing out the best of both pieces.

I really appreciate all of the compliments and as you can see Michael certainly does too. This project/challenge has been a real good experience for us both. I think the final product speaks well to that. It is a first for me but most definitely not the last time. Challenging an up and coming maker can certainly have it advantages not to mention it can be quite a lot of fun.

Thanks to both Michael and Paul.

See you all at Blade, Jon
