This is a beautiful camp knife that i just picked up from Louisiana knifemaker Mike Sanders.
Here are the specs:
Blade is carbon steel, O-1 with a hand rubbed finish
The blade is 7 3/8" long and it is 12 3/4" overall.
Osage handle w/ Nickel Silver guard.

Both!!

The end of the blade where it starts curving down towards the tip is sharpened, but not the straight part, if that makes any sense.

It is sharpened for about 1 1/2" from the tip of the blade, the rest is a false edge.

Very nice... Do you have a sheet that specifies O1 steel? I only ask because most all of the larger knives I've seen f/Sanders are of the 440-C variety. Please email me if you'd like eric.moss@williams.com

I do like his blades.

Ya'll are killing me with these O1 questions because I don't know. As a collector, I does not matter to me what the blade is made of, all they do is sit in my curio cabinet. Just curious, Is there something I should know about O1.

The blade thickness measures out at 3/16"

No, I do not have any paperwork on the knife.

Just a knife and a sheath.

I don't think anyone wishes to impose anything on you. Since you asked though I think an answer has to be given: simply put, for a knife that will be used O1 is just so much better than 440C. Now, for a safe queen I would say that 440C would probably be a better choice since it can take a better finish than O1. Just my $0.02 :).

Excuse me for stepping in, I know is none of my business but:

1. O1 is a good carbon steel, I'd take it over 440C any time
2. The knife is a hot deal for the price IHMO, if I was in the market for a camp knife I'd buy it in a heartbeat
3. Hint: the maker should know if it's O1

I hope it helps :)

I was only joking!

I have never used a custom made knife, they only come out of the curio for cleaning and showing off. PS>>They all wipe off the same. LOL

Mike told me that the steel is O1. I buy knives from Mike alot and all he tells me is materials, and I write them down in my knife log.
