Just curious about striders Damascus i think it looks great anyone know what steels he uses and if it's a decent useable steel?
 
I want to say it's 1095, I think he said it in the video that was produced about his damascus (search YouTube for it). I think it's alternating layers of 1095 and some nickel steel.
 
honestly I have seen him a couple times at knife shows. I dont know why I havent lol
 
I want to say it has cobalt, but dont know much about it. The looks or price tag do not appeal to me personally.
Definitely want to ensure it can do regular knife tasks and isnt meant to only be looked at.

Yeah he also has made damascus with cobalt added somehow, not sure on the specifics. Overall, I would assume the damascus would perform worse than the normal stainless steels he uses (S35VN, CTS-204P) in most regards.

Talk about careless and irresponsible, that chick is right next to him, and he's just flopping it around like he's making taffy!

That is his wife Marissa, she makes badass knives too they both know what they are doing trust me. And John Willis of SOE uses his cobalt Damascus MSC allot and loves the thing. He is the only person I know that actually uses one.
