Micro bevel

Interesting we've ended up at the opposite end of things, as I microbevel pretty much all my knives. Either a coarse or medium stone to set the edge, typically at 12 DPS (degrees per side), then whatever finishing grit I want at 15 DPS. I don't do any additional steps, I just add it at whatever my last grit is. Some people like to polish the whole bevel, and occasionally I will to, but mostly the edge bevel is coarse or medium and only the microbevel goes any finer. This saves time and wear on the finer stones.
 
yup, whatever works for us, no wrong way if its working :)
