Micro Bowie... My first IBBB (pics)

I thought I would post some pictures of my first HI Bowie. It's a micro Bowie made by the trident kami (Min?). It's very light and feels unreal in the hand. It balances perfectly, right on the index finger. It balances the exact same way as my +$300 Bark River Bravo1. It's amazing how much attention is paid to the functionality of this knife. It's super sharp and super handy. It's 8 3/4 long and 8 oz. I was not aware of the cool curves going on until after I received it. I can't believe I didn't buy one of these sooner.

I am having the "B" man Bawanna work is magic on it. I am shipping it to him this week. Here are some pre-Bawanna pictures. I will post more pics once it's finished.

Like I said before... This is a great little knife. It has perfect balance, it's super sharp. It's made from5160 steel, it's a great Bowie. Don't let the small size fool you. This knife is up to the task and I encourage anyone who doesn't have one to buy one. IBBB rocks!

Very nice one gb! Definitely a Min. Thats one of the the best ive seen yet. Great pics too. Its hard to send them off right after you get them but its worth having a bit of Bawanna magic on it:thumbup:

They generally run about 4" give or take a tad. Thats from leading edge of handle to tip.
Some assume the cho area is not included in blade length. I'm not certain myself.

That is one of the better Min's I've laid eyes on and I've played with several.

Looking forward to playing with this one too.

Dude, that's awesome:) What's the blade length on that?
It has a 3.5 inch sharp edge and a .5 cho area, the handle is 4 inches with a .25 exposed tang. I think Auntie may have more in stock if someone wants one. They are super bargain.

Thanks:) Here in CT, the carry length cannot have a cutting edge of more than 4 inches. That makes this one a go. Email sent to Auntie:)

That one actually has a bit of recurve to it like Bhaktas. Now that you got a micro you should consider a regular grandpappy AKB:D

grats gurkha, a fine little knife, I got mine in the first batch, but I have been meaning to get another, if I miss the bus on this I will keep eyes out for the next run, these are just handy little tools and the work kami dog did on his really impressed me, I think one made into a bayonet would be cool ;)

At last check, there are very few left, less than half a dozen probably, no more Bhakta's, kamidog got the last one of those, so all Mins left but the last few I've seen were really nice.

Auntie said it would be awhile before they make anymore as they are busy on other stuff.

Long as I got one to cherish I can wait for another.

I've actually bought or received 9 of these beauties and somehow I still only have 1. That ain't right.

I can visit at least 4 of them, my two sons and son in law got em, an officer, oh two officers here, wait, 2 officers and one officers son have them so I guess I got 11 of em to me name at one time and can visit 6 of them.

The only one left to me is the original first run short version (The Best) and somebody will have to no doubt pry it from my cold dead fingers. Not giving it up, no way, no how.

I hear ya there brother! I've got two and a half now. I did give one away but its still in the family.

Yeah, I've bought four IBBBs so far, two Bhaktas and two Mins. I still have two (one Bhakta and one Min), and I've given the other two away to friends.

If anybody ever decides to part with one of the first run short versions (The Best) you know where to come.

And no this is not Ndog, although he'd probably take it too.

Bawanna cant have anything that short any more. He puts them in his wheelchair pouch and mangles his fingers all up trying to find them. Please do him and his grandaughter a favor and send them to ndog. Shayla is learning to count now so hes gonna need all them fingers.
Sincerely
Mrs, Bawanna

AH...Sounds better when you say it:rolleyes:

After the first run handles there were some suggestions to make a longer version handle to fit people with larger paws so they made them one inch longer on the next run and all later runs. I believe ther were 18 original short ones. Ill be dang if i can account for them all?

Most people do prefer the longer handle.

For me the short handle was perfect. My goal was as compact as possible on the belt yet a truly meaningful tool.

Bhakta really knocked it out of the park, the first runs were beautiful things.

The IBBBs are definitely a must have. First edition or a revised reprint, makes no difference. They handle very well and can come in handy when a shorter blade will fill the bill. Mine is soooo nice and handy (Thanks again, gentlemen), I've been using it instead of straight pins lately. Hear that, Bawanna? Kamidog? (insert insane demoniacal laughter here.)

I feel ya doc. I thought the sensation was different but the locations in the middle back were such that I couldn't put my finger on it.

Much love and respect.
