Same. It’s a design flaw but is easily rectified with a piece of leather or Kevlar, etc.Blade touches the frame when folded and it gets chip when the blade is sharpen very thin. I place a piece of leather in between.
I still don’t like the steel/or how it’s been heat treated (which ever it is); it chips very easily even with a micro bevel. Nice little folding knife overall though.
I have mine with a single blended convex bevel and a very small micro (near invisible). I do plateau sharpening exclusively so the only cutting bevel is the micro.
Sharpening it on Diamond plates requires a very light touch as you get near the apex or it chips. Waterstones are better suited.
Maxamet has become my favorite steel in folding knives simply due to edge the retention and no chipping. I never let it get dull anyways and overall I like it a fair bit; even though I’m not a fan of so-called duper steels. Sharpening it isn’t an issue whatsoever, just takes slightly longer.
