Micro tomahawks??

I've noticed that there are at least a couple of micro tomahawks, like the TOPS Knives Micro Hawk Compact 6.9" Axe, out there.

how are they meant to be used? I don't want one, but I'm curious what the deal is.

It's just a knife shaped sort of like a loose facsimile of a tomahawk.
I believe that one is intended for tactical type purposes, but I can't imagine how it could really be good for anything at all.

Really more like a knife or karambit. They're too tiny to actually be used like a true tomahawk in any meaningful way.

I suppose you could press one into service as a skinning hatchet/ulu. Really though, the karambit answer is right. I remember seeing Cold Steel Tomahawk video, and there was a part were he choked up, and punched with the beard hanging over his knuckles, also a few hammer fisting type movements with the bit facing down, etc....

That seems to be Tops's big video on it. While it's still not my thing, he is making it work better than I'd have thought.

Looks like the TOPS weighs 11.2oz which is 317.5g -- a little Calabria or Sicilia pattern axe head weighs less (300g and 250g respectively)
