First, I apologize if this is somewhere I couldn’t find searching. No need to be critical. Been here a while and have earned my right to ask. That said:

I’ve been eyeballing some kitchen knives and have narrowed it down between Benchmade and Microtech.

Both are brands I know from experience to be respected. Can anyone provide solid feedback to how these blades perform in the kitchen? I want to stick with one or the other and Microtech is the more affordable of the two. I appreciate any feedback, thank you ahead of time.

I’d go Benchmade for kitchen use. Microtech makes awesome knives but they’re more geared toward tactical and EDC stuff, not long prep sessions. Benchmade’s kitchen models have better ergonomics and edge retention for actual cooking. Microtech will work just probably not as comfortable or practical over time. If the price difference isn’t huge Benchmade makes more sense for the kitchen

I haven’t but will check them out. Oddly, I didn’t know Spyderco had kitchen cutlery. Kitchen knives are a recent interest of mine.

I have the Microtech chef, santoku, and paring knife. I love them. They perform great and look cool/high end. All mine have the titanium bolsters. I’ll be getting the steak knife set soon.
