I haven't seen reviews on Microtech's Currahees actually. Maybe thats a clue on it's (lack of) performance? It does seem to have better ergonomics than HT just by looking at the pictures and it certainly looks well designed for soldiering.
Having said that, I have two Striders and they are easily among the best of my knives as far as hard military usage goes. The other one, EOD has remarkable ergonomics and wickedest shaving edge I have ever owned. It seems optimal for military use but being a serialized memorial knife I just can't bring myself to using it.
It might be beneficial to note on Strider's not so well known benefit that many Strider models do actually have fairly ergonomic handles, the EOD probably being near the top. While many Strider handles with paracord may seem blocky and uncomfortable I believe they have been designed for use with protective gloves such as combat gloves. I can assure that wearing protective gloves makes the handle much less of an issue and the fairly straightforward not so bulky handle style actually makes any hold of the knife possible with gloves on and the hold more secure as compared to bulkier contoured handles.
I do not own a HT so can't comment on that.
