Does anyone know why on Ebay there are three pages of the Microtech DOC? I would really like for them to start making some Socom Deltas.Does anyone know if they are going to make some soon? or any other type of folding knife for around the $300 range.Thanks.I hope this is not weird.Just wondering.

I don't know if the three pages of DOCs represents focused production or just what people didn't buy. They seem to be cranking out more autos than anything else right now, and they tend to do things in batches.

As Comeuppance said, Microtech tends to produce their knives in batches. The flood of DOCs may be because it's one of Microtech's less popular models. I previously owned a DOC and there are a couple fairly large flaws, namely the horrendous clip design and very poor flipping action.

Lack of sales may also be because Microtech has a long history of dodgy customer service/warranty repairs. Just use the search feature.

300.00+ for a g10 socom delta is getting silly;except for the lock, the handles are plain black g10;theres no exotic materials here, its crazy....

To be completely fair, If you're going to argue material cost vs retail cost, you should have a bone to pick with Chris Reeve, Strider, and Hinderer as well :P

I just think the proprietary hardware and crap customer services makes them a non-option for many of us, regardless of price.

How true!! I went against my better judgement and picked up an auto LUDT from Blade HQ. Awesome knife that I really liked......for exactly 3 weeks. Broken spring after much less than 200 openings. The tool for the knife has been out of stock forever. Now what??
Called and e mailed for 2 weeks......still waiting. Brand new knife sitting in a drawer completely useless.
Never again.

This is why the only Microtech on my radar is one I (finally) just picked up from a fellow on USN - no springs to break and I'll never need to adjust the pivot or send it in for tuning:

You said exactly what I was thinking.I also think the DOC are just not selling.Anytime Microtech comes out with a manual knife like the Socom Delta. They sell out very fast.i have also noticed that Microtech knives are not holding there value like they use too.I think maybe there customer service is really taking a toll. have never had a bad experience with there customer service, but I have heard a lot of other people complain.thanks for your input.

I think the real answer has finally become available, in that KAI (owners of Kershaw and Zero Tolerance) issued a cease and desist to Microtech in regards to producing sub-framelock designs, which is KAI's patent. Every manual folder from Microtech used the sub-framelock so there's nothing for them to produce until they redesign or bring out new knives. Apparently they pulled all of their manual folders from their BLADE booth.

Thank you so much for that. That really makes sense. There OTF'S are very easy to find . But the folding knife production has been very slow. Hopefully they will get this workout. I guess ZT is getting them back for the 0777. LOL

I only see 79 on eBay. It's not even a full page. Maybe on a phone it would be more.
