Hello all BF'ers,

I have a VERY USED, and slightly broken Microtech Lightfoot LCC (D/A) folder up for trade.

I got this for my father for Christmas a couple years back. I never thought he would be able to ruin a Microtech, but he did. I'm never buying him a knife again.

This is 154CM steel, and is partially serrated. Carbon fiber handle, titanium bolster, comes with lanyard and original Microtech belt pouch. No box.
  • The tip of the blade is chipped (see pics).
  • The auto-action still works but only "flings" the blade open 1/2-3/4ths of the way open. This could probably be fixed. I asked a few questions about this knife on BF awhile back and a some said that a good soak in some kind of "Gun Scrubber" could fix it. If not, someone with experience in auto knives could take it apart and have it working in no time.
  • The pocket clip is a little loose, easily fixed if you have the right Torx head screwdrivers.
  • The liner lock still works. Locks up great.

It's still functional as a manual folder. It opens/closes and locks fine. It's sharp and still useable. A good "beater" knife (can't believe i'm typing this about a Microtech :barf:) for those that don't want to tear up their nice Microtechs.

I wish my father wouldn't have ruined this knife as it's a great looking knife, perfect for every day carry.

I don't know what to even trade this for, or if anyone would even be interested... :(
So just post up your offers I guess.

Contact me via e-mail/visitor message/posting in this thread.
Also, if you'd like, I can do a quick video showing how the auto action works. Like I said, it just flings it open 1/2 to 3/4ths of the way open.

Here are the pictures (contact me for more pictures/bigger sizes):

My dad gave me this knife. It used to open automatically (button) but now it doesn't. It also doesn't stay locked (any force will close the blade when it's supposed to be "locked") and the clip is very loose.

On the blade it says:
LIGHTFOOT - L.C.C. D/A
2711 (Microtech logo/branding) 12/2000

Then near the frame of the knife it has "154-CM" going horizontally. I'm guessing this is the type of metal?

Sorry for the terrible photo, I couldn't get any decent closeups with this camera phone (Motorola Droid).

^Click for huge! :D
In your inquiry re: fixing the knife you state it doesn't lock up...now it does? Please explain.

When I posted that I couldn't get the blade 100% open, but after putting some Rem-Oil on it it folds completely out now.

If you'd like I can take a video showing me push full force trying to get it closed. If you look at the pics you can see the liner lock is in full effect... that blade isn't going anywhere now.
