Microtech Select Fire opening a bit stiff

I purchased a tool from that site. I can't see why it wouldn't work for you.

I don't know if you'll need two, one on each side. I have no idea what the pivot looks like on the SF.

It looks like this. I think I can manage with just one too, one side at a time until I find the sweet spot I need.

Just an update that I've gone ahead and ordered one of those wrench bits, the knife hasn't broken in yet and oiling didn't do much, if anything, and the pivot still sounds gritty. I'll post once I've gotten the bit and loosened the pivot.

I can't believe I never noticed this before, but the thumb stud on the side you'd open it as a righty is off! It's off like a third of a turn so the dimpled part of the thumb stud isn't where it should be.

This is how it should be, and as it is on the left-hand open side.

And this is how it is on the right-hand open side. See how it's turned?

I think I might just contact Microtech's CS and see if they can fix that and the pivot issue... Otherwise I'll just have to deal with it.

Save the Money on the tool I use the chuck on my dewalt drill. The three prongs adjust perfect to both size screw heads on the the knife.

Update, I already got the tool in and it worked perfectly, the pivot is now fine, it flies open with breakneck speed.

Now another question, is it possible to remove/adjust that thumb stud on this monster? I really don't want to send it out if I can help it, so any home remedies will be appreciated.
