Well, not really a complaint since I know folks are busy but I've had a socom delta at Microtech customer service with a stiff detent to get fixed since October. I am willing to wait but I'm pretty sure we've crossed over into WTF time frames. Anyone else waiting this long and actually got their knife back?

That seems to be SOP for Microtech warranty service. I'd heard they were working on getting things up and running much more quickly, sorry to hear that isn't the case for your knife.

Yes. I sent in a Socom Delta for a bent pocket clip replacement and they claimed the box that they accepted was empty. That was a few years back.

Microtech held on to my broken knife (lock bar would fail at basically the slightest touch) for nine months, and when they sent it back it was in exactly the same condition as before.

People should stop supporting this company. They are known design thieves, have the absolute worst customer service in the industry, and make idiotic, mall-ninja inspired knives.

How many more of these stories do I need to see? These guys suck.

So glad I don't own a Microtech, primarily due to this...and those silly screws.

My own drama with Microtech seems to be over at last. Brand new Socom Delta with a very off-centre blade was sent to them in October 2015. Knife came back repaired this week ... 7 months later. In this time my knife was misplaced twice (ie. went missing).

Lesson 1: Never pay for a Microtech online that has not been inspected for defects before shipping. If you get a lemon you're in for pain immediately.
Lesson 2: If you are the fortunate recipient of a good specimen then don't let anything happen to that knife that will require factory repairs.

A Microtech in good shape is a wonderful knife to own. I love Microtech knives so am trying not to throw stones at them here ... it just is what it is, unfortunately. They need to get their after-sales service sorted out. The available choices are just getting bigger - especially with Chinese makers upping their game all the time - so space for poor business practices is getting smaller by the day.

I have an Ultratech I bought new in 2008, and it is going in for it's third round of repairs. I just quits firing. I'm ready to just take the thing apart and try fixing it myself.

As someone who carried several Ultratechs for many years, best advice I can give is just don't lube it internally. A single drop under the slider is all it needs...
