Today I checked out a online knife stores new items and I saw Microtech's new Socom Deltas and they look great! I am planning on picking one up when they come out in a plain edge or coated blade. By the way has anyone already got one or ordered one?

Here are some Specs

Overall Length: 9"
Blade Length: 4"
Cutting Edge: 3.75"
Blade Steel: CTS-204P
Blade Finish: Stonewash
Blade Edge: Part Serrated
Handle Material: Black G10
Closed Length: 5"
Weight: 4.6 oz.
Made in the USA

Yeah I saw them on BladeHQ but they are all serrated. Curious that it's priced higher than the Elite. I thought G10 handles were cheaper than aluminum.

I saw that too, I was a little confused but I think it may have something to do with the machining on the handles and maybe the CTS-204p steel cost more than S35-VN steel, but I do really love the tip-up carry pocket clip because the tip-down clip was my only problem with the Elites.

I'm usually not a fan of Microtech's designs because they seem too tactical looking but i must say that after watching a YT vid on this one my opinion is dangerously changing:D
The framelock seems great and love the steel insert.
I also never had an aluminum knife before due to the fear of the handle being scratched too easily. Does it work like this?
I'm waiting to see one with the drop point though because i'm not a big fan of tantos.
Nevertheless, the knife seems great!

Oh...here's the vid:)

It looks like a great blade and I saw that vid a few days ago. I have a Microtech Selectfire and I love that blade but it seems to get just about no pocket time anymore.

I have a Socom Elite, which I honestly never thought I would like. But one came up in a trade and was a good deal so... Now I love it. My two complaints were 1: Aluminum handle- even though I found it doesn't scratch easily. 2: Tip down only carry. Now with the Delta both of my gripes are fixed! I have one on order with a local shop. Should be here this week I hope. When it gets here and if I ever get my Elite put back together (it's getting some special attention) I will do a comparison.

I also have a Select Fire that is my current favorite edc. Great knife.

I loved mine and wish I didn't sell it. I had the cts 204p version.

I'm looking to buy the custom version that has carbon fiber with a longer blade.

User experiences, are they happy happy happy... has the knife held up well, etc..

Also, call me crazy but I'd like to see pictures of it clipped on a pocket.

HHmmmm "Socom Delta" and "Socom Elite". Are these actually issued to US Special Operations Command units or this a marketing ploy to get the SF groupies and Delta fanboys to fork out more for a blade?

PS this is rhetorical-I know the answer

I don't know about you, but I sure don't buy knives for the name. I don't get all of the discontent over knife names. Who really gives a shit what its called.

I'd still purchase a socom delta if it were called the "my little pony."

They produced them with plain edge blades. Those have just sold out. Years ago, partially serrated knives outsold plain edges. Today plain edges are overwhelmingly more popular. Perhaps not all the manufacturers are tuned into that fact.

I've had a Socom Delta (Zombie Edition with aluminum handles) for a couple weeks. I honestly love it. I have the plain edge and the knife is amazing. The quality is outstanding and the F&F is great. I think on the prodo version, the blade length is actually 3.75" and the customs were 4' IIRC. Anyway, the knife just feels super solid, the action is smooth, and the lock is solid and no stick.

I love my zombie tech and just ordered another in black aluminum with stonewashed D2. One of my very favorite knives bar none.
