Microtech Socom Elite in S35-VN or CTS-204P?

Think cts-204p is the same as m390, if so it should be a better choice than s35-vn. Having said that, I've been really impressed with my s35 reeve kichen knife, easier to sharpen than s30v.

cts-204p is carpenter's take on m390. It is the same alloy, and performance should be nearly identical. I have not personally used anything in cts-204p, but based on my experience with m390, I would take 204p over s35vn every single time.

Awesome, thank you.

I own and tested a Socom Elite in CTS-204P, and it compared very well against my M390 blade for edge retention. I have no point of reference for S35VN since I own neither that nor S30V, although it sounds like MT does a good job with their S35VN. Since I own a CTS-204P version and am not looking for an S35VN, you know which I prefer ;).

GL with the search. I think MT makes excellent knives, but with the bad customer service reputation, I'd ensure that you have your supplier check the knife before sending it.

LOL, thanks for saving me 300 bucks. I was on the fence with Microtech and their ultimate douchiness but now I'm 100% certain I'll never buy their product. Such a pity, because that knife is hands down my all-time favorite. Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, take care everyone!
