That Emerson looks like a counterfeit.

The scales screws on standard Commanders go along the top, not through the middle. The Emerson logo on the blade is also completely wrong - no wave patent numerical designation, and it doesn't look like the name of the knife is there either.

It looks more like an older model Emerson. The old models had the screws running through the middle and the logo was also designed differently than the logo on today's Emersons.

I don't think it's a fake. Just one of the first models. It's very old.

+1 I too thought it was fake at first. I will have to see close up pics to be exact but I think the Commander is just a very early model.
Also just in case anyone is wondering, the Commander is the MOST copied Emerson model.
