Off Topic Microtech Standard Issue Blade Mod

Hey knife brethren, hope alls well!!!

Thinking about doing some reshaping on my MSI blade. I like the knife and the blade shape, but I like uniqueness even more. I’m thinking I’ll bring the point up into more of a traditional drop point shape. Probably soften the drop on the spine near the point as well. Will more than likely have to thin the blade quite a bit near the point too.
Did some searching on here and images through DuckDuckGo for modded MSI blades with zero results. Kinda surprised me, the blade seems like a good candidate for reshaping.

Any thoughts or recommendations are more than welcome!!!!

Anything is possible, but I would leave it. Depending on how much you bring it up you could have part of the blade poking out of the handle when closed. Thinning will also be challenging as more will be needed near the tip than the rest of the blade.

But, if you feel confident, go for it. Post pics when you are done.

Yeah I haven’t quite decided if I’m going to do it or not. I’ve reprofiled quite a few knives because of damaged tips and edges over the past twenty years with good results, definitely gotten better at it through the years, but I’ve never went into one with the intention of just doing a mod.
For sure have to pay close attention to how far I bring the point up. I think it could be brought up 1/4-3/8 without any trouble and still look good.

Maybe something like this. Probably closer to the edge down picture. The one with the edge up shortens the blade to much.

Could we see an image with the blade closed to see where the point ends up in relation to the outer edge of handle ?
I enjoy / do a lot of modding
hahhah I am often turning them INTO Wharncliffes . Shorter but Wharnie .
 
I will post a picture with the blade closed after work today. I forgot to grab it this morning so its setting on the knife rack!
