Anyone can email the buyer now posing as you to extract payment, happens more often than you’d think here. And the more public postings of email addresses, the more scammers are drawn to the site as a soft target. Buy the membership and keep payment in PMs, protects you and protects the site.

Yes, typically this scam (which doesn’t require either of you to be scammers of course) happens when a third party contacts the buyer and poses as the seller, getting payment that way before seller makes first contact.

Not sure why you can’t PM, if you have a paid gold membership you should be able to. Definitely worth poking the mods in tech support I think!
