I finally got my hands on the new Microtech Troodon, and I have the following observations: This OTF knife is smaller than the Scarab, and thinner. It is a pleasure to carry in the pocket. The OTF open and close feel the same as the Scarab and are just as flawless. The version I have is the single edged partially serrated satin finish. It is light enough to carry in dress slacks and puts a great deal of cutting potential in your pocket based on its size and weight. It is always a pleasure to use Microtech products and I have found the company to be a pleasure to obtain warranty service from on the 1 occasion when I had a problem with one of their knives. While the price of OTF knives in general are steep (I paid $350.00 for this one), I am reminded that you get what you pay for! I will place this knife in service and provide a follow up report – stay tuned……

I ordered a troodon, DE/PS Satin blade... it just looks so pimp I had to have one, wicked cool. The custom Tony ones with damascus blades are super sweet too, but they'd better be for $1600!:D Anyone know if the scarab is really all that much more beefy? I mean it's almost $500... Jack Bauer cares not. Oh yeah and I got mine for $289, free shipping!
