Hey all i heard alot of negative about microtech customer support. I have 1 experience with them and would like to share it. I bought a socom elite ( manual because i live in holland ) from a bf member for 250. It was brand new and loved the knife, when i dissasambeled the knife all was good, putting it back together i was an idiot and didnt realise the bodyscrews are very very slightly diffrent size because of the handle taper. So i tried to put the longer one in the back side like an idiot and kept going till i fucked the screw up. To the point where i coulnd get it out anymore and it was completely stripped... Tried EVERYTHING to get it out again and coulnd! Contacted microtech explaining the problem... Without asking any questions or seeing if it was true they send me a new hardware set from free ( also they payed for shipping from the us to holland which isnt cheap. I tried and tried to get the screw out but nothing. At this point i HAD to send the knife in. So contacted em all good. I shipped the knife ( 24 bucks shipping ) so clearly not cheap. Without even checking where i bought the thing plus remember this was 100% my fault they not only repaired the knife, they send it back for free! ( Remember 24 bucks shipping also which they payed aswell ) and on top of that they included a very nice microtech velcro patch and a thank you note... What can i say, could you ask for anything else ? This was the best customer service + email follow up i i ever got from a company so! I love love the quality of the knives and my exp with customer service was beyond good! So thumbs up microtech keep up the good work!

After 15 years or so of owning MT’s I finally had one break, it was a Combat Troodon that is a safe queen. It gets fired a few times here or there to show it off or admire it but it hasn’t been used.
One day it just wouldn’t open again, upsetting, but, Shiite happens. I’ve owned around 30 of them and have never had an issue before this one broke. I think this CT is from 2015.
I was a little concerned because I heard the rumors about poor customer service but when I called they were very polite and issued an RMA without any hassle. I sent them the CT and they had it back to me in about 6 weeks working like new at no charge.
I’m very happy with their CS and the only thing that I’d change would’ve been to include a note to detail what was repaired or replaced.

I just got my ultratech back yesterday. Ive had it for 3 years and sent it in to be cleaned. It had a clear cover originally, when it came back it had a black cover on it. They advertise $15 for service.
( correction - i was wrong about the $115 charge. That was for something completely unrelated. Sorry )

That is strange. I sent in a knife due to a broke spring. I told them I wasn't the first owner and didn't expect it to be covered under warranty, so they should let me know the cost to repair. The fixed and cleaned it for free. I don't think they even charged me for shipping.
