yes i think i'm going but can't find any details about it such as who is doing demos and cost and such. do you have any info?
 
The Mid-America Bladesmithing Expo is August 24-26 2007 at the MiamiCounty Fair Grounds in Troy, Ohio. Demonstrators are:

Kevin Cashen(Blade Grinding, Sharpening and Cutting Demo)

This is the third year for this Hammer-in. The Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil Blacksmith association host this. They have an amazing facility, 2 COMPLETE Shops that have bleecher seating and a very large hall that is used to hold class room type discussions. I have been to the first 2 and am planning on attending this year. Don't miss out on the chance to attend. I can't stress enough how much help these hammer-ins are.

Can't wait for the hammer to start ringing. This a super event. You sit with in Five feet of the action, and you can ask all the questions you want. This is a super hammer in to learn at. You will be glad you came. I'll have some of my collection on display and some handle wood for sale. And I can't wait to see Don Fogg in action. It'll be a fun week end. I've never been to one of these. Sounds like fun though.

I think I will be driving out from Oak Park on Thursday the 23rd, staying (somewhere - not camping) all 3 days and then returning via Detroit (where I need to be Monday and Tuesday) on Wednesday to Chicago.

let's bring this back up. I know there are a lot of young makers who could learn so much here. you don't have to forge to learn at this event.Think of it as a three day knife party.

I'm not coming this year, though I wish I could. My funds (and time) are limited, so I don't get to go to all the things I'd like. :(
