Mid end gear!!!

Here is the message that I am trying to spread and tired of everyone thinking that they have to have a $400 Chris Reeve knife have a good knife in their pocket there's a difference between an inexpensive really good cheap knife and just a plain cheap nice cheap Chinese knockoffs are not good and they are not reliable but if I get a Kershaw from China that has titanium scales and has a very good blade on it even though it's cheap it's still a good knife for the price

That's quite a sentence.

I agree...you can certainly get some decent quality knives for less money, you don't always have to go for the most high-end expensive knives in the business, sure...but to me, in most cases - not all - I've found that you get what you pay for. When I've gotten the cheaper ones I've been disappointed several times. That's just my own personal experience.

In the long run I feel it's better to spend the extra money on assured quality so you know you can depend on it. I never would've dreamed of spending $400-$500 on a pocket knife, for example, five or ten years ago but that's just the way the times are these days.

I EDC a Hinderer XM-18 bowie and it serves me well. I can depend on it. But I also use the Spyderco Police & Police 3 for work stuff on a daily basis and love them...and those cost much less; they're about 1/3 of the price of a Hinderer. Just depends on the circumstances/job to be done. Everything has a time & a place. The Polices serve me just as well as the XM.

It is middle range, not middle end. And there is middle range cost and middle range quality. Victorinox has middle quality steel, high quality fit and finish, at low to middle range price.

Spyderco Endura is a middle range knife, all the quality most people need for an EDC while their PM2 is high end for them. Yet both knives are not as high end (or range) as a custom knife.

Custom knives can be middle range too, I have a $100 custom knife from a guy that was just starting out.

Then you have Busse with their low/mid/high end Junkyard/Rat/Battle/Custom lines.

Most of my knives are middle range at low cost as I buy at pawn shops, flea markets, airport sales, etc. These are "used" markets but I often find unused knives there with original edge.
