Greetings!

I'm a modest Chris Reeve / Shirogorov collector looking to branch out a little. I'm in the market for a mid-tech flipper with a Wharncliffe or sheepsfoot blade. I'd prefer M390 / 20CV / CTS-204P blade steel and titanium handle scales. Something 3.5"+ would be great. I'm comfortable in the $500-700 price range.

I've been eyeing Ferrum Forge Knife Works pre-order for their upcoming 'Masterblaster', but wanted to get some other ideas before pulling the trigger. Any recommendations that meet the criteria above - or feedback on Ferrum Forge - is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I own 6 of their knives and I am very pleased with all! Big fan! They are built to last! I mostly use them for EDC farm work, and really all outdoors work. They have yet to let me down.

Check out Clyde Challenor, he has a website and is active on Instagram. Very high quality fit and finish on incredible, full-custom designs (including many like you describe). I have one of his knives and he's a pleasure to work with.

We think alike! The Masterblaster looks like it will be a working grail! I plan to get one. I would also recommend:

Curtiss Knives F3 wharncliffe
Smock Knives SK23
Ageis Knives Hoplite
ADV Butcher

And while not really a wharnie/sheepsfoot , you may like the Giant Mouse Knives GM1. Great knife but more of a leaf shape blade.

Thank you all for the suggestions thus far! I really like the Aegis Hoplite, Low_rez. If that were M390, I'd be sold.

I may end up ordering a plane titanium Masterblaster with tumbled blade and stainless hardware. I'm a simple guy.

It's a damn shame that Shirogorov hasn't made a sheepsfoot flipper for me yet.

I just ordered my first CRK about 30 minutes ago (small 21) and now looking through this thread I'm building a masterblaster. My poor bank account.

I couldn't resist the urge to build a Masterblaster myself. Hope it exceeds our collective expectations. :)

Blade length of SK23 is 3.25" and the OP asked for 3.5"+.

Op said 3.5+would be great but didn't rule out something smaller. Thought I'd mention it cause even though a tad smaller it's a great knife. The thickness makes it a real hand filler plus the choil, in case that's why op wants the larger size? It's in the mentioned price range, mine is in 3v and he uses a few different steels,(not sure if he'd work in one listed?). If anyone wants one of his knives they should get in now because he's closing his books to catch up. It's a wait but imo, worth it.
