Mid to High End Flipper that can also be opened via studs/hole

Southard Tolk, Hinderer XM18, and ZT 0560 all work equally well with thumbstud or flipper.

Don't dismiss the Spydie Southard. I have the all black one and opening with the hole is quite easy.
The trick is to push out perpendicular instead of straight ahead. Mine is a great flipper or flicker.
Also have a Domino and it might be a tic small, but performs large!
Both great knives!
Good luck and let us know what you decide on.

No, it cannot be flicked open and can barely be opened at all using the Spydie hole. It's actually just for looks on the Southard; it is designed as a flipper only.

Not exactly true. I can thumb-flick and spydie-flick the Southard easily.

Look into the Southard Tolk. Amazing knife for the money and Brad sells accessories for it on his site.
Cheers

This I can open thumb or flipper. Big heavy blade and it still opens just fine, either way.

If you want to keep the price around $175-$275, you should try the Spydercos, Viper Maga, Microtech D.O.C. and the like. If you want to spend a little more and have something unusual, then try Brous flippers (most have some type of hole for alternate way of opening), or better yet a Mid-Tech like the AdV Tactical Butcher (within your $600 limit). I've got all three sizes of the Tactical Butchers and I love them. The mid size (really the regular size) would be a best bet for an EDC blade. All of the Tactical Butchers have a thumb disc (ala Emerson) as an alternate way of opening the blade. They are fantastic flippers as are the Brous knives.

Good to know!
Thx.
