Thinking it must be 35.5 inches. And beautiful every single inch.

Wood look mighty fine at my house. And more beautiful scenery for the photo op too. Nice country.

Wow! Wish i had some bamboo! Thats 55 ounces of ridiculousness! Almost bought that on the spot...must be the Guinness talkin:D...ok be rational...

Maybe 26.5"? 35.5 is pretty dang long? Man! I need one of them.

Very interesting. Anyone who gets this one, has got to do a review.

Very interesting blade, Phil. Need some close up photos, please and maybe a little chopping action on film, too?

I'm also curious about the length. I seems longer than mine.
(My bamboo cutter is off site now, so I can't confirm unless I find the original thread with mensurations)

This one is definitely longer.

Mine is a BAMBOO CUTTER BY LOK KAMI

Gongrats Philllll.

Before I got mine, it thought I might find some use to it. But this is not a light machete. it is a massive blade.

As we all know, heavy blades are looking good in your hands ;-)

snow wolf if you have the horn one and want to sell I may have some cash next month :D

My HI crate has now passed 100 pounds and $10K in spending. Out of these 60+ pieces, probably 3 or 4 are seeing field work.
The BC like most of the collection is just that - a collection :D

I'm not ready to sell pieces yet but I wouldn't mind a trade for something as original/unique and of comparable value. According to the description - it says wood. It is presently where I hunt 300km away -so I can't confirm if it is horn but I suspect Auntie was right.

That is a massive bamboo cutter at 55 oz.

I have an older HI bamboo cutter by Young Sher kami, with a different style that's 21" OAL and 32 oz. It's still a pretty hefty blade, though barely more than half the weight of today's offering. What they seem to have in common is a long, robust blade that's straight for all or most of its length. I've never actually cut bamboo, but I understand it can be a bit of a challenge, especially if it springs back at you.

That is one heck of a beautiful blade. Would certainly build up the muscles swinging that thing!

Davidf99. While it looks a bit different from todays version, I really like the looks of yours. The handle looks strange but very functional. I udnerstand you havent used it on Bamboo but have you tried it with anything else? looks like small thickets of thick grass would sweep gently with that one

I haven't cut anything with it. Not even myself. I actually do have a lot of thick grass that I'll probably take down with a weedeater one of these days, but this blade is a bit hefty for gentle sweeping. Even though it's light compared with today's posting, the 32 oz is way out there around the middle of the blade.

There must be some reason for the downturned handle, perhaps lost in antiquity, but I haven't found it. It has an exotic look that I like and the blade is very nice.
