Midnight offer Bemboo Cutter

If you ever cut bamboo you will find out how dangerous the stuff can be to cut if your not careful. If cutting with a straight blade with no index or bend then the blade can easily twist and deflect on you and thats not good on bamboo because the grain is so straight the blade will tend to want to travel along the grain. If the blade exits at the approximate time it looses its energy or momentum it can deflect off into your leg, knee or whatever. Not pretty. Its important to get the follow through. With a heavier blade you are lees likely to have an incomplete cut. With a light blade you better be ready for this deflection. You have to hit it at a proper angle or you will just smash and crush it into a bunch of strings then you got to cut it again. I tried several blades and found the heavier with thinner edge was better for me. A bent handle like Davids I think would really help keep the blade pointed in the right direction. It takes some practice to cut the stuff safely but it is a blast to say the least. This is just my experience cutting the stuff and i may be totally wrong but heavier and thin edge seems to be the trend im seeing. That is a beautiful blade BTW phillll. Wish I had one:thumbup: Davids blade is awesome too. Love that handle!
