Midnight offering for 12/11

If it aint sharp enuff tell your Texas friend ill sharpen it for him. He cant be too far away from me eh? Texas is only so big ya know.

The cho and blade profile remind me of the Malla model (see below). Of course the handle shape and Sword of Shiva are completely different from the Malla. The kamis are creative craftsmen, and while most of their blades are well known models they are not shy about combining elements of two or more models into one knife. I think that's what we have here, and why "this Gopte is a different animal," as Amko points out.

Here is a comparison. The Malla is 18" OAL, so the blade is a bit elongated compared with the 15" Ghopte, but the blade profiles look similar to me, as well as the chos.

Thanks David. I like the comparison of the Gopte cho with the malla cho.
The Malla and this Gopte's profile are certainly similar.

Nine months to the day I bought it, finally, it is here, you regulars all know enough about this blade, so just confirming that yes, it is 20.4 oz, 15" even, scary sharp, superbly balanced, and Ram Kumar made sure it was both well tempered and pretty as heck. Wood is amazing, plenty of gold embellishments and at my friend's house in Texas, nine or ten folks at a party passed it around in silent awe. Viewed side on, it tapers to the most symmetrical point of my little collection. That's it for this in hand review, more from the field.

Email Sent. When we want to buy a knife posted here we send an email to Yangdu.
That's what matters.
Then we add a post here such as EMS so others will know that somebody ahead of them is interested in purchasing. Saves a bunch of email for Yangdu to sort through.
