Might be time for a Benchmade. Suggestions?

Of course it depends on your size range, price range and preferred blade shape.

I like the 581 Barrage and 913 Stryker the best. I'm also interested in getting the 890 Torrent and maybe the 520 ___. The 760, 730, 790 and 272 Adamas are also interesting. I used to think I wanted the 470 Emissary but finally decided it might be too small for me.

Just fyi D2 can rust more quickly. You will need to oil the blade if you get a knife in that steel. Also, I personally detest assisted folders. I'm gonna have to go with the 707 sequel, its legal in 90% of the US and is extremely versatile with the axis lock, the bone collector looks promising too. The 707 however is a very compact knife, how they got to fit a 3" blade in there boggles my mind. Its the best edc in my eyes next to the Spyderco Sage I

Benchmade 581 in M390 is amazing. Great looking knife and the m390 is a silly supper steel. My second favored knife is the ritter mini grip.

careful the benchmades have a habit of multiplying when your not looking, before went with the mini grip i would check out the 707 or if you want bigger 710. Those both will get your benchmade addiction in high gear. the bm 482 has been calling my name recently but so has the tilt... good luck

best regards

I say track down one of the discontinued HK 14205's its one of Benchmades best folders.

I have similar taste to you. My 2 favorite BMs are both discontinued but I found them, bought them and love them. I placed WTB ads here on BF and they were answered!
615 mini-Rukus
816 M390 AFCK with plain satin blade

this is the benchmade forum knife I have not been able to talk myself into carrying it, it's too purdy!

the subrosa, the 940 osbourne, the 860 bedlam, and the contego are all very nice. i personally dont like the griptilians handles (the way they feel and look), but thats just me.

the 710 is fabulous, and will probably set you on your path to benchmade. thats what did it for me, and alot of other people.

i have yet to try out the adamas, but am looking forward to it.

the benchmade 710 with m390 steel is a fine edc knife! to get the knife with m390 go to knifeworksDOTcom. it is an exclusive to their sight. i like the m390 a heck of a lot more than the standard d2 steel

I own and have owned numerous Benchmades. Get the 810 Contego. It is the best BM out there.

For a first Benchmade, I would recommend the 710--the original Axis-Lock folder. Not too pricey, very well-made, excellent materials.

Here's a size comparison pic with a 710 at the top:

Top to bottom: Benchmade 710, Ontario RAT-1, Emerson Horseman, Spyderco Para-Military 2

If the 710's a bit too large, the Osborne 94* series is tough to beat!
