Neck knives never grabbed me I just never saw the point of a blade half the size of the handle but after seeing a video of the Izula along with the molded sheath it appeals a lot more to me.. a solid chunk of steel is way more hard use than any folder ever will be, and EVERYONE owns an Izula a few questions however. Firstly has the blade ever been too small? Ill have a larger folder for lightuse but I want the izula for heavy use. Secondly If I apply marine tuff cloth will the knife stay relatively sweatproof? Will the coating on the blade last or will it likely rub after some use?

the blade is nearly 3 inches long. it cuts like a much bigger knife. the slight forward angle, and lots of belly lets you push it through about anything. i've edc'd mine for over a year, and never wanted for a larger knife in daily use. most of the coating is still on my blade, though i've cut lots of cardboard, batonned a bit, and done some convexing on it. get one, you'll love it.

Get it! Tough little knife for sure. Carries like a dream too. Toss the knife and sheath only in your pocket and you'll forget it's there.

do it! the izula is one of my most used knives, it's just so handy, lightweight, tough... i could go on but you get the point ;)

Will marine tuff cloth (the stronger stuff) protect the edge? I doubt it would get sweat on it because the sheath would protect it but its still got the humid environment

if you keep a rust inhibitor on it, it'll keep the rust off. i don't even bother with it myself, sharpening and use does enough to prevent rust.

I've only had mine for just over a week, but it's been with me constantly. I've been very impressed by how secure and capable it is in the hand, especially after I put a tight paracord wrap on it. The knife and sheath are even slimmer than I imagined, which makes it simple to carry anywhere you want. I got it through the mail the day before a short backpacking trip and was glad to have it in addition to my RC-4 (I'm starting to see a 3 in my future...)

I am still amazed at how many Izulas we ship out. I think we're around 14000 of these things made so far.

I'm still working #3442 hard. I've used it to dig up worms while fishing and everything else you can legally do with a knife. :D It's the knife I always come back to as a necker.
Just get one, if you don't like it someone will buy it.

great knife with a blow-torch proff warranty. just buy one already. rust inhibitor? every day usage solves that. i bought my wife a pink one for our anniversery last year. and i own 4 others. just for sh*ts and giggles buy a small mocha fufu frappe latte every morning instead of a large for 1 month then take the extra money and buy the izzy. after you own one for a few days ill bet that you go back go back to a small black 7-11 coffee for $0.89 and buy 2 the next month. [the last sentance is not in any way endorsed by esse. it is this authors attempt at humor.]

I put down my Spyderco, my Benchmade and only really carry my Izula daily. It does everything I need it to do and more.

This is my Izula after battoning through seasoned white oak. The coating is still intact, the marks are rubbed into the finish and not though it.

Sorry for the lousy pic but I'm at work and its sub-optimal conditions for photographing.

You won't be dissapointed, my Izula has made it into my EDC rotation as a solid favorite to carry with a folder. Great knife, great warranty, can't beat it.

You will not be disappointed - despite it's size mine has outperformed some large folders and fixed knives in a camp (I must admit, no one had a real chopper though, we had axes) - it being so small you get superb control for finer work - and it's tough like hell.

Go for the Izula you will love it, its is the "biggest" little knife i have ever owned takes everything i can dish out and then some, besides if for some unknown reason you found yourself not liking it put it on here for sale and you wont even get done typing it up and it will be sold..... Really it is that good and well loved. Good luck and dont forget GET ONE!!!!!!! :D

The Izzy is a great knife - it's my primary EDC knife and it's never left me wanting.

You get a lot of configuration options with carry method/orientation and handle/scale flexibility.

I have not seen a single post or YouTube review complaining about the Izula.
