Mike Dye and Garry Fadden Shrike Passaround - SIGNUP

damn, i'm in the end again, it feels like it's been years already and still haven't gotten the temperance from the temparance passaround! :P

YES!!!! I have been the first with every passaround I have been in so far!! :D Can't wait to test it out. To tell you the truth I never handled a Al Mar and they never really captured my intrests, but I have heard so much about this model, that I am really looking forward to handling one. Thanks again Guys!!:)

It'll give me a chance to see how the knife holds up. Will the lock still be tight? How well will the blade walk and talk?

I guess that the only bummer is that I won't get to see it in pristine condition with a factory edge.

FYI there is probably some benefit to ordering the CA folks just like the east coast folks as our state is as large as a good part of the east coast. CA is larger than several other countries. But I don't really care as the difference in postage will probably be less than a buck one way or the other for me if I stay at the end of the list...:)

BTW: the email address/ handle is jmxcpter

You can't have a real word without a vowel. Even a butchered, hacked bunch of abreviations. At least nobody had jmxcpter when I tried AOL in 1995. It seems that user name is still available almost everywhere, as long as I haven't already registered there before and forgot my password so it works for me.

jmx

Erm...I don't care much for the new order, but I guess I'm a little biased...:footinmou

Beggars can't be choosers...

My intent was that transit time would be lessened, but I don't want to make anyone angry. I think the more critical part is that it's passed promptly.

However, we can still do it in signup order too. If you want that just send me a email.

Thanks,

I really think ordering it geographically makes the most sense. (no, not because I moved up in order) That way both shipping times and shipping costs will be less, and the whole process will run faster. There is no sense in having the knife criss cross the country multiple times if it doesn't have to.

shipping cost is going to be the same no matter where you ship in the U.S. with priority mail, it's like 3.85 or something like that , you don't get charge more for shipping from new york to los angeles vs. new york to new jersey, but having it geographically ordered will cut shipping time by about a day.

I just called Mike at New Graham Knives, and it's packed up and will be shipped within the hour.

How is that for fast? :D :D

Thanks,

Just got the Al Mar in the mail, first impressions,(since I've never owned one before) a nice knife, I said it once before,(and you guys all told me I was nuts) and I'll say it again, this knife reminds me of my BM AFCK, so I'm going to carry both of them to compare for the next couple of days.

Let ya all know what I think in a couple of days.

BTW thanks everyone, Dave, Mike, Gary, for a chance to handle and evaluate a knife I've considered buying, but now will have the exposure to it, to make a educated decision.

This is why a passaround archive or a separate format would be nice.

I went back here to post, because this is where it originated from. The other thread turned into a Customer Service thread for Al Mar, after the knife had to be sent back when the loose clip screw became an issue.

This has been an issue with most of the passarounds, after the passaround starts the original thread gets buried, and inevitebly a neww thread gets started.

Should we have a thread for sign ups, seperate from the reviews, with a link to the original sign up?

I know I like to go back to the sign up to see where I am in the passaround rotation once in a while.

I agree it would be nice if we could get the posts a little more organized. In fact this one could be locked since signup is done.

And the others moved to knife reviews.

Guys, sorry I didn't make the post office yesterday, but the Al MAr is packed and ready to ship Monday morning, the 13th, to Chris(slide 13).

I'll post a review later, I worked this knife side by side with my BM AFCK, the two knives were very similar, let me just say this, if the BM AFCK was never invented the Al Mar would be in the running as an EDC.

Maybe this will help prevent using this thread again....

DO NOT POST SHRIKE REVIEWS TO THIS THREAD.

To prevent confusion as to where the Shrike reviews are, please use this thread instead.

Thanks,

Mike

Edited to add: Nobody else post here either so this will be on the bottom, and will be sure to get read.
