My little condo suffered some damage and the homeowners association had various contractors in to fix it. One of them apparently unplugged the dehumidifier in my safe. By the time I discovered it, I was surprised to find some corrosion on a couple of my favorite knives, despite the fact that they were treated with protectant and several were in fleece pouches specifically intended for knife storage.
In any event, I suffered some damage to a beautiful little knife made by Mike McClure. I showed it to him at the recent Cal. Knife Expo and asked him to think about what it would cost for him to restore it. When I called a few days later for an estimate, he insisted on fixing it at no cost---despite my sincere willingness to pay him.
I got the knife back a couple days ago and it looks great. I'd like to thank Mike publicly for such outstanding dedication to his customers. If you have an opportunity to deal with Mike, I am certain you will be happy with both his fine work and his commitment to customers.
