Recently got this beauty from Mike - one of his "signature" daggers

16" overall, 11" Damascus blade, with superb ivory and fantastic frame handle construction.

Mike has continued to refine this design over the last few years, including ( as you can see in this picture) using a tapering fuller.

This is much more difficult to pull off than a "standard" fuller, but I think the subtle tweak really adds to the look of the long, sleek blade.

Without further ado....

Thanks to Coop for the great image - The Damascus really "shimmers" which is hard to show in a static image...but this is as good as it gets :D

One of my favorite knives. Ever... From an insanely talented maker that I am proud to call my friend.

If it can get better than this--- I'm really not sure how.

Thanks Bill for hiring out Coop's crazy photo skillz! This is so much better than Mike's cell phone video! ;) :D

Mike's signature daggers are fantastic, and just keep getting better.

That's a great Coop photo, too.

It could get better. With some sheath pics. I need to see some pants!

Bill,

That is a beautiful knife. I really love Mike's knives.

Congratulations.

Congratulations, Bill! I handled either this one or one like it at Little Rock...stunning! And so emmaculately clean!

Amazing. I'm a huge fan of these daggers. I believe Mike makes some of the nicest daggers on the planet.

Oh Yeah, that is super clean all over. I really like the tapered fuller. Superb. Fantastic images also!
Cheers Keith

Mike's daggers are SO nice !
Congrats and Thanks for giving us a look at it the Coop way..

Since the first day I met Mike and saw his early knives way back when the ABS show was in Reno......I knew this guy would be making some great knives. His signature daggers are just one realm of proof.

Recently got to see one of his 5 MS test knives. A dogbone bowie that is extremely nice. Whoever gets that knife is one lucky guy. Not to mention whoever gets the other 4. He will get his MS rating, no doubt about it.

Mike sure has owned these daggers.

A super nice guy with fit and finish that rivals anyone.

Great photo of a great knife. I'm also proud to call Mike my friend.

A SUPERB knife on all levels!

I've never seen a MQ knife I didn't like. This time I had a chance to explore it fully.

As Bill allows, the steel is vibrant and alive. I can't capture the shimmer.

As Ron submits, this knife is MS quality with a JS stamp.

That ivory is SO creamy and homogenous. You had to look VERY closely to see the grain. What a clean piece.

Thanks for the many compliments. This was a hard one to capture, and I experimented a bit.

Thank you, Bill.

To add to the accolades, I currently have a plan in action for a frame handled dagger of my own, and Mike was kind enough to spend almost an hour on the phone with me sharing some of the finer points of his methodology. If mine turns out well, it'll be in large part due to Mike's generous help.
