I picked this one up a few months back. This is Mike's first hollow grind blade. It really had some nice surface area for engraving so off to Joe Mason it went. In my opinion Joe really did a great job. Well after a few months and a couple of more stops, Paul Long of course and Chuck Ward this one is finally on the way to Florida.

Blade length on the fighter is 8 3/4" the overall length is 13 5/8"
Handle material is pre-ban Elephant Ivory.
Guard, frame, and rear bolster are 416 Stainless.
Ladder pattern Damascus with 260 Layers of 1084 &15n20 carbon steel.

I think everyone involved did a really great job on this one.

Thanks, Jon

Wow!
In my opinion this is Mike Ruth's best work to date.
Beautiful Joe Mason engraving/inlay as well. Brilliant decision to have it engraved Jon.
And a beautiful Chuck Ward image image to top it off.

Congrats to all.

I agree with Kevin - finest piece I have seen from Mike - most impressive indeed.

That's a stunning piece Jon, congrats. I agree with the others, you chose wisely on the engraving. It was a fine piece beforehand, but the engraving made it even more striking.

Wow. What a fantastic job all the way around. The knife and engraving are beautiful and fit together excellently.

Congrats on this great knife.

That is a fine looking knife. If the engraving is an after thought you can not tell it all looks so well planned out . Nice job by all involved.

:eek:WOW Jon!! I was thoroughly awed by the Newton D-guard package, but this just TRUMPED that BIG TIME!

I would also say I couldn't think of a finer Mike Ruth knife and he has made some beauties!

Joe Mason has a VERY distinctive engraving style and it looks perfect on that knife.

EVERYONE involed sure did DELIVER!

Pleasure seeing it and CONGRATS!

Peter

Has all the things I like in a straight knife. Another "best of" in the Jon Klein collection. Congrats to you, Jon, and all involved in it's creation!

Congrats to all, Jon, Mike, Paul and Chuck !
Never handled a Ruth but of the pieces I've seen online,
this one is my favorite.
Just magnificent, Jon, thanks for sharing !
