Hey Mike. I made a Sastre press and made a sheath. I need to learn a lot yet but it turned out okay. I will have to get my hands on a copy of your Kitchen Kydex DVD this weekend at the Indy show.

Not being a resident, I don't know all the details on Indiana's CCW laws. Bring a small sample of the foam you are using if you can.

I use the military green mat that goes under the sleeping blanket. I double layer it.

I know I did not get the kydex hot enough causing a lack of definition. I usually use .60. This time I used .90 and I needed to heat it longer. It holds the knife well and doesn't rattle though.

Sleeping pad foam will work. Different foam types will give different results, depeneding on density. A high degree of definition isn't manditory. If you've got a "no rattle" lock-up, the holding tension is where you want it, and it releases cleanly, then I'd say you were very successful. Function first ..... form is just a matter of style and taste. Just got another shipment of DVDs with workbooks from TRS today, so I shouldn't run out, but would love to.
