Hey Mike. I made a Sastre press and made a sheath. I need to learn a lot yet but it turned out okay. I will have to get my hands on a copy of your Kitchen Kydex DVD this weekend at the Indy show.
Here is a pic-

redhawk44p,

Looking good! What day(s) will you be there? I've got a bunch of the DVDs, but will put one aside for you just in case. TRS Direct has finally got it up on their website. Be sure to bring in stuff you've made since our last talk. See ya' there!

EastR and I will be there Saturday.

Are J hook sheaths legal? I don't want to get in trouble up there.

Not being a resident, I don't know all the details on Indiana's CCW laws. Bring a small sample of the foam you are using if you can.

I use the military green mat that goes under the sleeping blanket. I double layer it.

I know I did not get the kydex hot enough causing a lack of definition. I usually use .60. This time I used .90 and I needed to heat it longer. It holds the knife well and doesn't rattle though.

If you think you will run out of DVDs I can order it here, right?

Sleeping pad foam will work. Different foam types will give different results, depeneding on density. A high degree of definition isn't manditory. If you've got a "no rattle" lock-up, the holding tension is where you want it, and it releases cleanly, then I'd say you were very successful. Function first ..... form is just a matter of style and taste. Just got another shipment of DVDs with workbooks from TRS today, so I shouldn't run out, but would love to. :)
